Session Description:
This session will explore the concept of Compassionate Jurisprudence, which is a set of practices used by judges, court officers, justice professionals, and their community partners that allows them to understand the feelings and perspectives of court-involved people and themselves and to use that understanding to guide their actions and decision-making for the betterment of everyone involved.
Learning Objectives:
After attending this session, participants will:
· Have a working definition of Compassionate Jurisprudence.
· Identify 7 compassionate practices that can be employed in your courtrooms.
· Understand the connection between compassionate practice and self-compassion.
