Session Description:
Developing a respectful, professional relationship between judges and attorneys and addiction professionals is essential in helping offenders with addictions access appropriate treatment. Dr. Patterson will discuss suggested referral processes to ensure clients will be able to enter the most appropriate, least restrictive, available levels of care to increase the chances of successful changes to support sustained recovery and reduce recidivism in the justice system. Understanding each role the professionals play in the process and open communication is an important part of the relationship.
